Inventory & Appraisement Fees
If you filed Inventory & Appraisement for a Probate matter between January 2008 and December 2010 you may be entitled to a refund. In accordance with
LGC 118.056
(d) The fee for filing an inventory and appraisement under Section 118.052(2)(B)(i) applies only if the instrument is filed after the 90th day after the date the personal representative has qualified to serve or, if the court grants an extension under Section 250, Texas Probate Code, after the date of the extended deadline specified by the court.
If you timely filed an Inventory and Appraisement prior to the 90th day after a personal representative was qualified, you may submit a claim to Diane Wilson, Deputy County Clerk. The claim should include the case number and style, date the Order was signed, date the $27.00 fee was paid.
Land Records
If you filed a document in Land Records between September 1, 2009 through May 24, 2011 you may have been charged for the cost of recording the cover sheet. The filing fee should be:

If the last page of the document does not have at least a 3” space at the bottom to place the file-stamp, then the back of that page must be used for an additional cost of $4.00.
If you have been overcharged you may submit a claim with the document number, Book, Volume and Page. Claims should be submitted to:

CRIMINAL DEPARTMENT
Criminal Section is responsible for the filing and upkeep of all misdemeanor records. All misdemeanor criminal cases, such as DWI's, thefts by check, possession of marijuana, criminal trespass, tampering with government records, criminal searches, issues arrest warrants and subpoenas, and other miscellaneous duties. The Criminal Clerk also receives and reports payment of fines and court costs; reports dispositions to the Office of Court Administration and to the Texas Department of Public Safety and acts as the Clerk for the County Court at Law.

PROBATE, GUARDIANSHIP, AND MENTAL COMMITMENTS DEPARTMENT
Probate and Guardianship Court cases deal with protecting the wishes, rights and obligations of persons regarding their property when individuals are unable to do so as a result of death, (probating will) or incapacitating illness, either physical or mental.
Mental Commitments relates to the involuntary commitment of an individual and requires the adherence to the temporary commitment procedures codified in the Texas Mental Health Code. Before the Mental Health Court, i.e., the Probate Court, can issue an Order of Protective Custody (OPC) to restrain a mentally ill individual who presents a substantial risk of serious harm to his or her self or others, with proper paperwork and Court proceedings.

VOTER REGISTRAR
Voter Registrar for Fannin County is responsible for registering all eligible voters, providing a list of qualified voters to all other county entities for their elections, making reports to the Secretary of State. The County Clerk’s office conducts all countywide special and general elections and handles Early Voting (formerly known as Absentee Voting) for the countywide elections. The County Clerk’s office is also responsible for notification and maintenance of candidate/officeholder reports and appointments of campaign treasurer designations for county offices.

CIVIL LITIGATION, JURY QUESTIONS (COUNTY COURT AT LAW) and 911 ADDRESSING
Civil Section of the County Clerk's Office files and processes lawsuits for the County Court at Law of Fannin County.
The function of the Fannin County Addressing Department is to develop and maintain a County wide addressing system to insure immediate emergency response to the citizens of Fannin County. The 911 Addressing Department provides addresses for all locations in the County, approve County Road names and assign addresses for new development, maintains a history of original addresses and 911 addresses, maintains a database of all County Roads in County, serve as the contact person for Texoma Council of Governments (TCOG), sheriff department, fire departments, police departments and electric and telephone service providers.
